OWH Cardmakers

Had a great time Thursday (11/14) making cards with the gals in the community.  We managed to finish 65 cards for Operation Write Home.  They will be on their way soon to some of our heroes so they can write to their families.  Seems strange that we are done with Christmas cards for them to write home and working toward Valentine's Day.  They are so far away though that enough lead time is needed to be sure they have the right cards for the right season.

This image is from Sparkle Creations, Chef Oliver.
He's been colored with Copics.

Theresa brought this design with labels done one the cricut.

Close to My Heart has this robot stamp in a set called
Outta This World.  It works with their Artiste Cricut
cartridge so it's easy to cut out.

This was cut with the cricut.

Another cricut card cut using Nifty Fifties.

An old Stampin' Up set and circle die from
 My Favorite Things.

Doodle Pantry had a fundraiser for OWH so I got this
digi from them.  So much fun to play with.

We'll be getting together  once a month to keep this going.  Hope I have a little more creativity going this next month.  And still trying to figure out formatting and posting on this blog thing.  Hope I haven't bored anyone completely but this is a great way to document what we have accomplished.  Until next time, have a wonderful fantastic day.

Happy Halloween

A few days early but I wanted to make sure I wished everyone a Happy Halloween.  Time sure has been flying by.  This week is really busy with preparing for a doll show Saturday in Kissimmee and an OWH card making event on Friday.  Squeeze in a doctor's appointment somewhere in there.

Here's a few cards I made for this Halloween:

Thanks to my cricut for some great images.  They are from the Paper Doll cartridge.  My favorite is the cat.  I just had to add some googly eyes to him.  Happy Halloween everyone!

Card Making with the Gals

Had a wonderful time making cards with the gals here Thursday (10/17)  evening .  We managed to make about 100 cards.   It was nice to just gab and create.   They have all been sent off to Operation Write Home so we are done with Christmas cards for them.  Although it's not too late to send them Any Hero mail for Christmas.  Seems like the holidays are creeping up too fast.    Here are some of the cards we finished:

So now it's time to work on the Craft Fair until next month.  Thanks for stopping by.

Our Daily Bread Designs October Challenge

The Our Daily Bread Designs October Challenge for Operation Write Home is to make a card featuring a sentiment.  If 50 crafters post their card, ODBD will pay shipping for two boxes of cards to go to deployed heroes.  That's a huge help!

This sentiment is one of my favorites from My Favorite Things.  I have to include this one in the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!  If you're a card maker, join the fun at Operation Write Home.

World Card Making Day OWH Blog Hop

I'm so glad to be participating in the World Card Making Day Operation Write Home Blog Hop.  Wow!  Is that a mouthful!  The challenge for this hop is to make a Thank You card using any of the Operation Write Home sketches.  There are so many that it is hard to choose one.  I usually pick some paper or an image and let it speak to me.  I knew I wanted to use one of the images I had colored with my copic markers.  Copics are something new for me.  I finally settled on sketch number 126.

The image I used is from My Favorite Things, called Indian Girl.  I think she's so sweet and makes me feel thankful this time of year.  The paper is from Crate Paper and the ribbon is grosgrain from my stash.   Hope you like the results.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you enjoy the blog hop today.  There are lots more blogs to visit.  Leave me a comment and tell me what you think.  And now you can return to WCMDOWH by clicking HERE.

OWH Our Daily Bread Designs September Challenge

Our Daily Bread Designs challenges Operation Write Home card makers each month.  For every 50 cards linked to the challenge, they will pay for shipping two boxes to our heroes.  This month's challenge is wheels.  I haven't made to many cards with wheels on them.  Guess I'll have to look for more stamps and papers with some wheels.  At any rate, here's my submission:

The background was cut on the cricut from various papers I had in my stash.  .

Had a wonderful "field" trip yesterday to My Favorite Things.  I love their boutique.  It's so well laid out.  They refill copic markers so that was the main goal.  They also had several of their pure innocence stamps on sale.  Now I have more images I can practice coloring with the copics.

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!

OWH Birthday Party Card Class

I enrolled in the Operation Write Home Birthday Party card class.  There are several neat tutorials and videos in the class.  I finally finished a few of my cards from the class.  Here's the results:

I think they came out kind of cute.  I tried coloring different skin colors for the faces and outfits with Copics.   The stamps are from My Favorite Things and I used cardstock from my stash.
